The Savage Garden Success Story

Darren & Daniel first met in 1993 when Darren answered a vocalist wanted ad in a Brisbane music magazine called "Time Off" Daniel says, "Straight away on the phone, even before the guy came around, I knew he was right. I had this weird feeling." Daniel was in a band with his brother Oliver and two friends called Red Edge. Red Edge played in pubs all over Queensland and up and down the coast, performing 'pub rock songs' such as those from Cold Chisel, Australian Crawl and other Australian rock icons. Not long after Darren joined, Oliver left the group to build his own recording studio. After about a year, Darren & Daniel both left the group and teamed up to try their hand at writing their own songs - first calling themselves 'Crush' & then 'Bliss'. They recorded a 5 song demo tape which was sent out to various record companies. Their now manager, John Woodruff, heard the tape and signed them up straight away to Roadshow Music.
AND THEY THEN BECAME THE SAVAGE GARDEN THAT WE KNOW AND LOVE!!
